“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead”, Nelson Mandela. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has lived-up to these words. She was an unflinching and undaunted anti-apartheid activist who championed for so many and whose wisdom and strong character gave hope and guidance to South Africa and the continent at large.

She will always remain South Africa’s hope for greater freedom.  Winnie resisted brutal attempts by the apartheid regime to break her  heart of resistance; she will always remain the torch bearer of South Africa’s  struggle for self-determination.

The passing away of  Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is a huge lose not only to South Africa and Africa but a lost to the whole world.

Madikizela-Mandela remains an African  pride and her values will continue to take root in younger generations to come.
